The first article on crisis addressed taking care of your physical body and mind. The second article on crisis encourages you to accept help from others and to pace yourself throughout the day. Today’s article will teach you how to listen to your body.

Some of the details of your crisis may be too much to deal with on any given day. That’s when the people who are helping you come in. Allow them to help when you do not have the strength. And then do what your body tells you to do.
Our bodies are designed to heal any wounds, mental or physical. If you do not have the strength to get up and deal with the details of your crisis, then you must rest. This is what your body is telling you to do. All behavior must have some balance or you will create more problems for yourself. If you stay in bed for a week then this can become a problem. Avoidance is useful to point.

With our hurry-up and go mentality we sometimes find it difficult to stay still and heal. It is okay if you need to take a couch day maybe even two! Your body will tell you when to get up. Take advantage of the energy and work on the details of your situation. After that, if you need another couch day, take it. You will find after some time has passed you will need less time on the couch or bed.

You body will tell you what to eat by way of cravings. I am a firm believer if your body needs protein you will have cravings for meat, fish, or soy products. If you need vitamins and electrolytes your body will crave fruits and veges. You just have to be in tune to what your body is saying to you. I will leave refined sugar out of this because we all could omit those types of foods from our diet and will not suffer from the loss. Refined sugar plays havoc on your pancreas, blood sugar, and mood.Lot’s of people would rather have a big piece of chocolate cake rather than a piece of chicken; believe me the choice of chicken or soy products is a much better selection when you are in crisis.

One thing I know for sure is that crises will come and go throughout our lives. The second thing I know for sure is that your situation will change. Learn from your experiences and become attentive to your body’s messages. Be patient and place one foot in front of the other. Be easy on yourself. Hold your head up high and smile!
